Players' Willingness (from *paintings) mixed media 1997 This work consists of an eight foot long metal wall-mounted box which has a small trapdoor and knob located on the top surface at either end. When a knob is pulled (2) it opens the trapdoor on the opposite end of the box (instead of the trapdoor it is located immediately next to). Unless two people chanel their efforts (3) and open eachothers corresponding trapdoors, there is no way to see what is in either side of the box. When two people open the doors for each other, however, fabric-lined cavities are revealed which contain pieces of paint which have velcro attached to their back side(4). These pieces stick to the fuzzy surface of the white object located in the center of the wall above the metal box. |
